Ashwin likely to replace Axar Patel in World Cup 2023: Even before the start of ODI World Cup 2023, the madness of cricket fans is being seen regarding this mega event. The Indian team also reached Guwahati on 28 September after the end of the ODI series against Australia. Ashwin got a chance to play in the first 2 matches of the 3-match ODI series that ended against Australia. In this, he could not do anything special in the first match whereas in the second match, Ashwin was definitely successful in impressing everyone with his bowling.

In 2011, when the Indian team won the ODI World Cup under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ashwin was a part of Team India at that time. Although he got a chance to play in only 2 matches, but this also included the important quarter-final match against Australia. Ashwin had taken 2 wickets while conceding 52 runs in that match.
